Professor Elliott West Wins SEC Faculty Achievement Award
Elliott West, Distinguished Professor of History, has won the 2012 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award. The SEC bestows this honor on professors who have “outstanding records in teaching and scholarship [and] who serve as role models for other faculty and students.” Winners also must be full professors or higher at SEC institutions, and be distinguished both in their teaching and in their scholarship at the national and international levels of the academy. Each winner of the SEC Faculty Award will receive a $5,000 honorarium.
