The George William Ray Memorial Award
All current history majors, transfer students or incoming freshman history majors who are interested in the study of western civilization are eligible. The award is contingent on good academic standing and the approval of the George William Ray Memorial Award Committee. Applications must be submitted by January 2.
The Mary D. Hudgins Grant in Arkansas History
The Department of History, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, is pleased to announce the Mary D. Hudgins Grant in Arkansas History. This grant is intended to support graduate and undergraduate students who have demonstrated an interest in the field of Arkansas history, and whose honors thesis, master’s thesis, or doctoral dissertation is on an Arkansas history topic.
The Mary D. Hudgins Fellowship in Arkansas History
This fellowship is intended to support students who have demonstrated an interest in the field of Arkansas history and whose honors thesis, master’s thesis, or doctoral dissertation is on an Arkansas history topic.
All current history majors and graduate students are eligible. The amount of the fellowship ranges from $500 to $8,800. The fellowship is for one year only, although fellows may reapply for additional years of support.
The Mary D. Hudgins Research Grants in Arkansas History
Research grants may be made to graduate students enrolled on the Fayetteville campus of the University of Arkansas "who are doing significant research and writing on defined areas of Arkansas history." Occasional grants may be awarded to undergraduate students enrolled on the Fayetteville campus "who are already doing significant research on some field of Arkansas history."
Willard B. Gatewood Fellowship in Southern History
This fellowship is intended to support graduate students who have demonstrated an interest in the field of Southern history and whose master's thesis or doctoral dissertation is on a Southern history topic.
All current History graduate students are eligible. The amount of the fellowship is up to $10,000. The fellowship is for one year only, although fellows may reapply for additional years of support.
